Reporting Information:
Before June 1 of each year, the Board will notify each attorney subject to reporting for the current reporting period that the attorney must complete the Rule 3 MCLE requirements and certify such completion by the end (June 30) of the reporting period.
An attorney subject to reporting for the current reporting period must file
either a certification of completion of the Rule 3 MCLE requirements or a makeup plan detailing how the attorney intends to complete those requirements by the end of the reporting period (June 30), unless the Board extends the time for good cause.
Newly Admitted Requirement:
Newly admitted attorneys must complete 15 hours of specially approved continuing legal education courses on Vermont practice and procedure. At least 6 of the 15 hours must be earned by attendance at live courses. The 15 hours must be completed no earlier than 1 year before, and no later than 1 year after, admission to the bar. Note that courses taken to satisfy the first-year CLE requirement will count toward the MCLE requirement during your first reporting period.
