Professional Ethics and Ethical Professionalism

For the legal profession, the term "professional ethics" means the ethical standards imposed by the judicial branch as substantive rules of the court pursuant to its inherent judicial power under our constitutional form of government, and the Rules of Professional Conduct constitute the current version of such standards. We commonly also describe such "professional ethics" as "legal ethics." "Ethical conduct" means conduct satisfying such standards. Ethical professionalism connotes a form of conduct that is more than merely sufficient to be deemed "ethical conduct." For conduct to be deemed to satisfy the standards of professionalism, it's necessary, by not sufficient, for it to be "ethical" -- i.e., it must be more than merely "ethical." How much more? And in what ways? What is the definition of "professionalism"? These are the types of questions posed in this seminar for lawyers on "professionalism."
