Consequences of Ethical Misconduct: Avoiding Disbarment

About This Course
In certain instances, lawyer misconduct can be so egregious that it results in disbarment. These cases should be approached with clear judgment pursuant to the ethical framework laid out by the ABA Model Rules. This seminar specifically examines ABA Model Rules 8.4, 5.4, and 3.8, and it explores concepts such as misconduct in dealing with the elderly and the disbarment of federal prosecutors. Four cases — In re Martin, In re Butler, People v. Mucklow, and In re Kline — are also included to exemplify these concepts and ethical standards.
