14 credit hours annually

6 hours must be taken live, in-person
8 may be completed online

12 hours General
2 hours Ethics

Including 1 hour of Substance Abuse, Mental Health Issues, or Stress Management and the Legal Profession every two (2) years

TRTCLE reports completed courses to The Supreme Court of South Carolina Commission on CLE and Specialization.

Carryover Information:
An attorney may carry forward up to 14 excess credit hours, including a maximum of 2 LEPR (ethics) credit hours, to the next reporting year. Substance abuse and mental health (SA/MH) credits cannot be carried over to satisfy the next reporting year's requirements. Credit from “alternatively delivered” courses (designated by the Commission with an ADO or ADT suffix after the SC CLE course number) may not be carried forward. Only live credits may be carried forward; live webinar and/or on-demand credits may not be carried forward.

Carryover is limited to the immediately succeeding reporting period.

New admittees are exempt from the MCLE requirement during the reporting period in which they are licensed.
