About The Lecturer

Jay Litten practiced law for over 30 years at Litten & Sipe, LLP in Harrisonburg Virginia. He graduated from William & Mary in 1982 and the William & Mary Law School in 1984. His work mainly consisted of representing governmental entities in and out of court. As a lawyer at Litten & Sipe, LLP, he was peer-reviewed by Martindale-Hubbell as “AV” (preeminent). He was listed in Best Lawyers in America, Virginia Legal Elite, and Virginia Super Lawyers Top 100. 

Still of counsel with the law firm, he has served as the Town Manager of Bridgewater, Virginia, since 2016. “When your hometown comes calling,” he says, “you listen.” Since taking over as Town Manager, he has earned a Master’s Degree in Finance. (ALM 2021, Extension Studies, Harvard University.)
