Understanding the Oregon CLE Requirement
Total CLE Requirement:
45 credit hours every three years
Credit Format:
All credits may be completed online
Credit Breakdown:
45 MCLE Hours*
At least 5 Ethics hours
At least 1 hour on a lawyer's statutory duty to report Child Abuse and Elder Abuse
*The Oregon Supreme Court has approved a new MCLE rule (effective on January 1, 2019) requiring at least 1 hour per reporting period on the subject of mental health, substance use and cognitive impairment.
**Including 3 hours of Access to Justice every other reporting period.

Reporting Information:
Effective September 18, 2020, the Supreme Court ordered amendments to the MCLE Rules and Regulations that move the MCLE compliance deadlines to the spring. This is permanent for all reporting periods going forward.
Reporting period end dates have changed from December 31 to April 30 the following year. Reporting deadlines have changed from January 31 to May 31.

9 hours Practical Skills
3-hour Introductory Course in Access to Justice
