Soft Skills for Lawyers
About This Course
In this course, trial attorney Christopher O’Donnell shares his expertise in the importance of soft skills for lawyers. Law school curriculum often only imparts “hard” legal skills that teach students the technical competencies they need to practice law. However, the equally important “soft” skills, which refer to the personal qualities that allow lawyers to thrive in the workplace, are often ignored and go unlearned by lawyers.
Soft skills such as cooperation, trust building, and empathy are transferable to any field of law, which makes them applicable to an attorney and especially helpful when someone shifts their area of practice in the middle of their careers. This program offers essential strategies for attorneys to reconcile the sometimes necessary dispassionate approach that must be taken toward cases with the also necessary emotional intelligence that is crucial for lawyers to possess.
Mr. O’Donnell injects his own anecdotal experiences with soft skills to make this program highly informative and enjoyable for attorneys at any level of practice and in any field of law.
