Patent Claim Drafting: Techniques, Strategies and Filing Tips
About This Course
The program will help inexperienced patent practitioners understand how to prepare patent claims that can be efficiently prosecuted, leading to a valid patent that provides the greatest possible value to the client. The main topics will include identifying the best subject matter for patent claims, drafting claims, and sets of claims that best express that subject matter. Attention will also be given to how choices in claim drafting can affect subsequent prosecution.
This program is intended for attorneys new to patent prosecution. Attorneys need not have substantial experience with patent drafting or prosecution but should at least recognize the basic structure of patent claims and the main criteria for patentability under U.S. law.
