About This Course
This course assists attorneys in their practice for matters involving intellectual property and associated legal considerations. The course will provide insights that can help attorneys increase their clients’ business values, give their clients a competitive edge, anticipate and address legal issues, and avoid costly disputes.
The course begins with examining the various types of intellectual property protection, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets. Next, intellectual property legal considerations are explored, such as requirements for registering intellectual property and rights afforded under the respective types of intellectual property. The course further discusses types of agreements covering intellectual property and practical considerations at various stages of intellectual property development.
The second part of the course addresses intellectual property and legal considerations with practical examples. The course examines the intellectual property rights and registration lifecycle, as well as various legal agreements, such as licenses, consulting agreements, and employment agreements that cover intellectual property specifically.
