The "Rules" of Professionalism for Lawyers
About This Course
In addition to abiding by the law and maintaining strong ethical standards, lawyers must also understand the professional expectations of their field. This course will provide a detailed definition of professionalism in the legal field, examine the history of professionalism, and compare professionalism to ethics in within the legal profession.
Course participants will be presented with various hypothetical scenarios relating to issues of professionalism such as legal fees, relationships with opposing counsel, pro bono work, protection of the public, and confidentiality.
This course will also cover A Lawyer’s Creed, Aspirational Ideals, certain aspects of the Model Rules.
