Conflicts, Misconduct, and Ethical Consequences
About This Course
This course will focus on conflicts of interest between lawyers and clients, including conflicts related to a lawyer’s personal or pecuniary interests, and on various other types of misconduct. It will discuss the consequences of breaching the Model Rules and examine the responsibility to report instances of misconduct or violations of the Model Rules. The instructor will cover some of the challenges associated with alcoholism and present several viewpoints related to the responsibility to report the misconduct of an impaired lawyer. The course will also cover general information about reporting professional misconduct.
