How to Overcome Substance Abuse Disorder and Avoid Legal Ethics Issues
About This Course
Mental health issues and substance abuse are prevalent within the legal
profession; however, most lawyers do not seek help or treatment. In this
course, Ms. Sharp and Ms. Howlett will share their perspectives on the issues and provide practical techniques for exercising mindfulness and reducing stress and anxiety. Furthermore, they will explain the multiple warning signs of impairment, how to detect them, and define a highly functioning alcoholic attorney's characteristics. Ms. Sharp and Ms. Howlett conclude this course by exploring treatment options and other resources for lawyers dealing with these issues or having colleagues and friends dealing with them within the profession.
