This Course
It is crucial for attorneys to understand the ways in which implicit bias affects their ability to practice law and to be informed about the ways in which they can mitigate this. This course will examine how mindfulness can help attorneys to curb their implicit bias. Class participants will engage in several exercises about implicit bias and learn about the different groups that implicit bias can work against. They will learn about the importance of cultural competence and conscious communication and be informed about the ways in which the legal field can prioritize diversity.
