Introduction to Wage and Hour Law
About This Course
Wage and Hour Law is primarily governed by the Fair Labor Standards Act of 1983 (FLSA). This course will provide a detailed background of FLSA, including its origins, intended purpose, and applications over time. The material will cover the basic provisions of FLSA, minimum wage, overtime, record keeping, youth employment, exemptions and constitutionality. The instructor will advise in the areas of FLSA violations, outlining the administrative procedure used for violations as well as the remedies available. There are also state and municipal statutes that are important to Wage and Hour Law, which will be covered in this course as well.
