From the State Bar of New Mexico:

* There is a new Equity in Justice credit requirement. Starting from the 2024 compliance season, attorneys are required to have 9 General, 1 EIJ, and 2 Ethics credits. Excess EIJ credits will roll over to General

* There is no longer a cap on self-study credits. Attorneys can earn all of their credits via self-study options, such as TRTCLE's online courses

February 1st

March 1st - TRTCLE reports the credits for New Mexico Attorneys.

TRTCLE reports completed courses and respective credits to the State Bar of New Mexico MCLE Department. Attorneys cannot self-report TRTCLE's courses.

Carryover Information:
An attorney may carry forward up to 12 credit hours to the next licensing year. This maximum includes 2 hours of ethics and professionalism credits and 1 hour of equity in justice credit. Excess ethics, professionalism, and equity in justice credits may be converted and applied toward the general credit requirement.

Carryover is limited to the immediately succeeding reporting period.

New Mexico attorneys must complete the New Mexico Bridge the Gap Program within their first full year of admission.
