From the State Bar of New Mexico:

* There is a new Equity in Justice credit requirement. For the 2024 compliance season, attorneys are required to have 9 General, 1 EIJ, and 2 Ethics credits. Excess EIJ credits will roll over to General

* There is no longer a cap on self-study credits. Attorneys can earn all of their credits via self-study options, such as TRTCLE's online courses

February 1st

March 1st - TRTCLE reports the credits for New Mexico Attorneys.

TRTCLE reports completed courses and respective credits to the State Bar of New Mexico MCLE Department. Attorneys cannot self-report TRTCLE's courses.

Carry-over. Any member may carry up to twelve (12) hours of excess credits earned in one (1) compliance year over to the next compliance year only. Only two (2) hours of ethics and professionalism credit may be carried over as part of the twelve (12) hours of credits. Excess ethics and professionalism credits can be converted to be used toward the substantive (general) requirement. Only four (4) self-study credit hours may be carried over as part of the twelve (12) hours of credits. No credit may be carried over for more than one (1) compliance year.

May 1: Any uncompleted aspect will cause a member's name to be sent to the Supreme Court and you risk a possible administrative suspension of your license.

New Mexico attorneys must complete the New Mexico Bridge the Gap Program within their first full year of admission.
