About The Lecturer

Melissa is a multi-published attorney in the field of technology law. Her experience includes drafting technology agreements (including software licensing), and providing guidance on data mapping, privacy laws and security issues. She has worked at two chambers-ranked law firms in their respective technology practice groups.

Her introduction into the field began during law school while working in Congress. There, she was assigned to attend a hearing on the Office of Personnel Management hacking incident in 2015 and draft a memorandum. Combining her passion for technology, security, and international law, Melissa further honed her skills at the United Nations Investigative Unit. Here, she utilized public information, data maps, and internet resources to investigate financial crimes. A proud graduate of Brooklyn Law School, Melissa assisted in bringing top international cyber security lawyer, Maj. Gen. (ret.) Dan Efrony to lecture on international law and cyber warfare.

Melissa actively shares her knowledge, presenting to start-ups on securing their businesses and participating in panels at law schools, particularly those encouraging more women to enter legal tech. She is passionate about raising awareness about the mental health impact technology has on our youth.

Melissa is admitted to practice law in New York and New Jersey and holds certification as a Certified Information Privacy Professional through the International Association of Privacy Professionals. She serves at Cyber Law Firm, PLLC as their senior associate.
