Credits and Reporting
- 1. How do I receive credit for my completed courses?
- 2. Who is responsible for reporting my credits?
1. How do I receive credit for my completed courses?
Before course credit can be received, you must first complete the course and receive a course certificate by entering the embedded codes. From the "My Account" dropdown menu, select "My Courses", and then click on the corresponding course type. Proceed with the steps listed below depending on the type of course:
Online Courses: Click on "In Progress", then the course title, and then "Get Certificate" at the bottom right. Fill in the embedded codes provided in the course's Part 1 and Part 2 videos and the course evaluation, then click "Submit" to unlock your certificate.
Teleconferences/Webcasts & Live Lectures: Click "Past Courses" (or "Upcoming Courses" if you are retrieving your certificate on the same day as the course presentation) then the course title, and then "Get Certificate" at the bottom right. Fill in the embedded code given for the live program and the course evaluation, then click "Submit" to unlock your certificate.
After unlocking your certificate of completion, you must generate a separate certificate for each jurisdiction where you require credit. Please be sure that your TRTCLE profile includes your State Attorney Number.
Your certificate will remain accessible in your account by navigating to the "My Account" dropdown menu and selecting "My Certificates." Choose your course title, then select the jurisdiction for which you need the certificate. Click either "View Certificate" or "Download (PDF)" to save or print your certificate. This will serve as your proof of credit for that jurisdiction.
2. Who is responsible for reporting my credits?
TRTCLE reports CLE credits to the following states: AL, DE, GA, HI, ID, IL, IN, KS, LA, ME, MT, NC, NE, NM, NV, OH, OK, OR, PA, PR, RI, SC, TN, TX, UT, WA*, WV. If your state is not included in the list above, you will need to self-report your completed CLE credits. When you complete a course for your reporting jurisdiction, you will find the state-specific directions for reporting available on the certificate page.
*Washington State requires attorneys to self-report their self-study CLE credits; therefore, for all online courses you complete with TRTCLE, you must report your credits. If you completed a Live or Teleconference course, we will report your completed CLE credits.
Please note that if you are licensed in multiple states including any of the following: Georgia, Hawaii, Illinois, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, Tennessee, and/or Utah, and you need credits reported to multiple states, there may be additional reporting fees required. If you purchase a state-specific bundle/subscription, that state's reporting fees are included in the price you paid. However, if you purchase a state-specific bundle/subscription and need credits reported to an additional state that has reporting fees, you will need to pay the additional state's reporting fees. For example, if you need credits from an Oregon Bundle to be reported to both OSB and Utah MCLE, you will need to pay the Utah reporting fee(s) to have your attendance reported to Utah MCLE.
Each month, we contact attorneys who have listed multiple states in their profile and have completed courses that are approved in multiple states if there is a reporting fee required. However, you can also contact us at [email protected] or call 888-397-6399 if you wish to pay for the reporting fees in advance, or if you have any questions.
For North Carolina, your attendance will be reported for all approved courses. However, North Carolina attorneys will receive a bill from the North Carolina State Bar for attendance fees for out-of-state courses after you return your annual report forms each year.
